The Artist

I grew up playing and exploring with paper crafts. Drawing, cutting, and folding paper pop-up cards and origami were some of my favourite pastimes. In Model Home, a collage assemblage of the important belongings one has in one's home to furnish a community home in this sculpture. The objects will be placed in three, life-size, pop-up rooms. This artwork not only captures the foldout forms and silhouettes of these objects but also the process of making. The cutouts from the material from which the objects are created are left as traces on the walls between each room. The overall effect is a highly layered and open work of a -strangely familiar- new environment.
